UN DESA and UNDRR announce new guidance for financing disaster risk reduction

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) released a Guidance Note on Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs) for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). This document provides technical guidance aimed at addressing the challenges of funding DRR efforts and risk-informing investment decisions. It offers a roadmap for countries, especially those most vulnerable to disasters, to bolster their resilience and ensure sustainable development by integrating DRR perspectives into national financing frameworks. The guidance was developed over two years and includes practical frameworks, a policy option compendium, and an implementation plan aligned with the Sendai Framework goals.&nbsp;
